WELCOME TO TC3 -

TRIATHLON CLUB OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA

Network. Train. Compete.

We are a member driven non-profit organization providing triathlon networking and training to multisport athletes regardless of ability.

ALL ABOUT US

What We’re All About

Based in the Fresno/Clovis area of Central California, Triathlon Club of Central California (TC3) welcomes people of all abilities and multisport disciplines. We love to socialize, train, support each other and compete.

Members attend races locally, nationally and internationally. We participate in all distances. We are active! For 2017, we have 45 optional races on our calendar and many more events.

We have a number of attractive benefits catered to help you achieve your goals. We have something for everyone. Looking for some fun or to train hard or both - we have you covered! There are no manditory races or gatherings.

With the backing of local multisport agencies, we encourage California athletes from the central coast to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and from Bakersfield to the Bay Area to participate in our club.

MEMBER BENEFITS

NETWORK

Our members enjoy helping and supporting each other to achieve individual goals.

Members participate in planned and impromptu group swims, bike rides and runs ranging from social to difficult.

Discounts are available from our friends and sponsors for certain events and races.

We are currently building a mentor program to help aspiring athletes reach their goals. Experienced athletes can give back to the club by becoming a mentor.

We have an awesome team kit and other team gear to show our pride.

TRAIN

The club conducts training events targeted for specific upcoming club races.

Our clinics can help you get the most out of your training. The club provides clinics on various topics ranging from transition tips, nutrition to run technique.

We are currently building a professional coaching resource to help members seeking professional coaching. The club does not profit from coaching, it is simply a benefit offered to members.

COMPETE

Our club hosts and supports local events including a cycling time trial series. This is a great opportunity to crank it up and see what you've got!

Our team competes at a wide range of local and state events. Some members travel nationally and internationally. There are well attended Sprint, Olympic, Long Course and Ironman races.

Our member only web site http://tc3.teampapp.com contains our event and race calendar so members can see which members are competing at events. Club members are great about supporting each other during these events.

This year we will be building a catalog of race reports to help you organize and be better prepared for your race.

I am excited for the opportunity to service the club and it’s members the best I can. The sport of triathlon means a awful lot to me.  It has transformed me physically, emotional and spiritually.  In the summer oF 2013 I was an overweight  father of 7.  In July of that year I made a commitment to be a healthier person.  Much like many of us, I was curious about triathlon and thought, what the heck I can give it shot. I finished my first sprint triathlon at the Marin County triathlon in October of 2013.  I was hooked. I have since, through the support of my wife, family and friends have been on an amazing journey.  I have completed 2 full Ironmans, 6 half ironmans, 2x Escapee from Alcatraz and qualified for nations 4 years in row. I was TC3 runner up triathlete of the year in 2018  The thing I am most proud of is all the amazing people I have met through the endurance sport community. The added value that all these individuals have brought to my life is humbling.  I only hope I have been able to provide some sort of encouragement in their lives. There is no way I could thank everyone enough.

Outside of triathlon I have been blessed with a full life. I have an amazing wife that has aloud me to be apart of her life for 20 plus years. We have 7 amazing kids and they have blessed us with 2 grandchild. I started a business with my best friend over 9 years ago and we are very fortunate with our success.

I started my fitness journey on a dare.  "You can't run a marathon" and from that statement I have taken off.  After accomplishing the marathon a friend suggested doing a triathlon and after one sprint I was hooked.  From there I did a 70.3 then on to a 140.6 the following year.  I have found something I love, the training gave me an outlet for my high stress job, some "me" time and competing makes me push my self to my limits.  2018 was a big year for me competing in Oceanside 70.3, Ironman Canada 140.6, Tollhouse century and finishing my first ultra trail run with Shadow of the Giants along with a few sprint tri's and half marathons.  I am married to an amazing man who puts up with my crazy and my two boys are my biggest fans.

I have been doing TRI for a couple years.  I started as an out of shape guy looking for a way to get fit.  I bought a book, did the workouts and it was fun...but I had questions, wanted to do some group swims and training run/bike works.  During one of my adventures into the world of cycling a local bike shop rep handed me a flier and said I should check out TC3, so I did. I found a social club with my same Triathlon habit. I’ve been a member ever since.

At TC3 we all bring different skills and ability levels, its part of what makes it fun!  I’ve done sprint distance events at Lake Tahoe, Morro Bay, Bass Lake, and Millerton Lake.  This summer I completed my first Olympic course at Rancho Seco.  Training with The group has kept it fun, and opened the doors to many parts of triathlon I really didn’t know that much about.  Also this year my wife and 3 boys have each completed there first Triathlons this year.  We’re all looking forward to doing more together. I am looking forward to many more years of Tri and some increasingly more difficult races... and having fun doing it.

Steve has been a TC3 member for 5 years and has been a big support of the the Club.

Stephen's quote: I am submitting myself to run for our Board of Directors. I joined our club 5 years ago and for me it was a life changing experience! :) I've loved being involved in TC3 and want to do more! I do not think of myself this way but the reality is I've served successfully in leadership positions starting in grade school til now. Our Triathlon Club is a very special collection of absolutely wonderful human beings that have become close friends and family. I would be humbly honored to serve each of you and TC3 as one of our Directors. Thank you and TC3 ROCKS!!!!!

  • In 2000 I ran the Marine Corp Marathon as a bucket list item. I trained on my own, struggled and somehow finished.  Finishing my first marathon is a feeling that I will never forget.

  • Thirteen years after that, I would join Team in Training to train for the San Diego Rock n’ Roll marathon and this time I was hooked. Since that season I would go on to run many marathons, an ultra marathon, Spartan races, triathalons and an Ironman. I love competing; I love pushing myself to see how far I can go. Through all of this, my favorite aspect has been the friendships that I have made, the teammates that I’ve gotten to know, all the athletes that I’ve run with and the individuls I’ve helped as a pacer. This community has giving me so much. Clubs such as TC3 make a major impact in the lives of others and I want to be a part of it. I would be honored to be considered for a board position.

  • In addition to my endurance hobby, I am a very lucky man as I am the father of two wonderful boys; Aidan is 13 and Ethan is 11.  These two boys bring so much joy, love and happiness in my life and only follow my faith in God as highest of importance to me.  Outside of my love for endurance sports, I also enjoy traveling, reading, golf and my career as a financial advisor and business owner.

  • I have been doing triathlons for the past 5 years off and on. I started with running marathons but decided to try a sport where I could spend more time with my partner, so we started cycling together (sort of).  I then decided to make the transition in triathlons even without knowing how to swim. I did my 1st triathlon and I was hooked!!! I am a burn survivor with some feet issues so I can’t always participate as much as I would like but I push myself as much as I possibly can! I’ve done 3 full marathons, @ least 30 1/2 marathons, biked centuries, and have done mostly sprint triathlons. I hope to finish my 1st 70.3 in April 2020. I work full time as a Cat scan tech @ Fresno Heart hospital, I love

  • Disneyland, and love traveling and seeing new things.

  • I’m a mom to one adult daughter, soon-to-be grandmother, aunt, daughter, friend and 4th grade teacher.  Some of my interests include coffee, wine and fitness. My recently added interest is triathlons.  Since September 14, I’ve raced in 3 sprints and I’m addicted.  What I didn’t expect before training and racing triathlons are the amazing friendships I’ve made from Clovis to Visalia to Lemoore. This is the main reason why I’d like to participate in serving on the TC3 board. Members of TC3 have done so much for me and I want to pay it forward somehow.  If I could be of any assistance on the board, count me in.

  • I started with team in training in October of 2012 doing half marathons. I spent four seasons on TNT and one as a team captain. I now have completed 23 marathons in the last 5 years. I finished my first triathlon, Santa Rosa 70.3 in 2017 and my first Olympic triathlon was in 2018. I am a huge team player and love to encourage others to help them reach their full potential. I have taught pilates/core over the past 4 years for my running group and have studied diet, nutrition, and core strengthening in order to continually improve my class and enhance my team towards becoming better runners. I believe that my skills would help me to excel in a position as a board leader.
